Playdates with a Purpose : Organic Pillow Giveaway

Family/ motherhood
Playdates with a Purpose

I waited over 9 years to be a Mama. It’s an honor, privilege and joy to be given the task of parenting. But goodnight, it can be lonely! Yep, I admitted it, I can feel a wee bit discouraged when my days are filled with 5 word sentences and board books. Never in my 9 years of infertility did I think I would one day give anything for a date night or weekend away with friends. In fact, I totally judged those who would who talk about needing to get away from their children. Did they not appreciate what they had? I would have given anything to have my days filled with playdates and educating myself on an organic pillow for toddlers!

What’s that saying, don’t judge until you’ve walked a mile in his shoes?

My bad.

Here’s the thing folks,  you can love the dickens out of your child, but your family will not be healthy if it revolves around your child. Parents need time away with other adults and often! It’s so easy to isolate yourself and get into a routine as a family, to where you don’t have time for YOU. It’s important stuff y’all.

Playdates with a Purpose | Organic Pillow Giveaway

I live less than 10 minutes away from my bestie, and her youngest of 3 children is only a month younger than my E. Yes, their marriage is already arranged. But I’ll tell ya, we can get so stuck in our routine that we never see each other! We both do business together educating on essential oils and we still have a hard time spending quality time together.

So what can we do to break out from our routine and make adult time happen?

We’ve taken playdates into our own hands and decided to be intentional with the time when our littles are sleeping. Playdates with a purpose folks. Our kids typically nap between 2 and 3 hours per day. So why not do nap time together? I pack up E’s organic pillow, BB {her lovey}, and her new fav comforter and head over just after lunch for our purposeful playdate! The kiddos sleep, while the Mama’s play, or work, depending on the day! It’s easy and the kids love it. Sure you may think your child can only sleep in his/her bed, or needs a certain familiar setting to sleep well, but really, you just have to do it. Kids are much more flexible than we give them credit for and most times these things work themselves out after a few tries!

Playdates with a Purpose | Organic Toddler Pillow Giveaway

And can we just talk about these adorable toddler sized pillows from Greenbuds Baby and the precious toddler comforter that doubles as a play mat? My bestie and I have always been big into researching the best chemical-free products for our family, and bedding is no joke when it comes to chemicals! I searched high and low for the best mattress for E before she was born and I SO wish I had stumbled upon their site back then.

They recently sent me these adorable pillows and crib comforter to try out and we are in love! Makes packing for trips or our playdate naps super easy and helps us take a piece of home with us for comfort. The products from Greenbuds Baby are organic, meaning there are no pesticides, herbicides, chemicals or other harmful substances. Both the pillows and the comforter are made with GOTS certified organic cotton which rocks my green-loving world!

Because I fell in love with their quality products, the good folks from Greenbuds Baby would like to give one of my lovely readers a SET {who has a girl and boy?!} of these Jack and Jill pillows!

So how will you be intentional about making playdates purposeful?

Love anyway to swap something out and eliminate another chemical! So far all baby products are chemical free, using amazing theives cleaner along with some other chemical free cleaners around the house… Dish soap, detergent, air freshener… Love the tips for your blog V!

We are in the process of going completely green. We have transitioned quite a few things…like cleaning products, some personal care items, food, medicinal products, etc…but I am still learning a lot and have things I want to transition to more natural/green. It is amazing how having kids will create the desire to gain knowledge about healthier and more natural products/living! My husband and I already tried to live a healthy lifestyle before kids, but after kids (going to have my second soon), my desire for gaining and sharing knowledge on healthier living (not just eating) has been supercharged! Those… Read more »

We’re gradually going green in my house. Started with products we use on our skin, most food we eat. Hopefully, we be able to do more.

Love the play date during nap time idea! We are pretty green in our house, but I still haven’t replaced our (grown ups) mattress or our couch with flame retardant free, non toxic versions. They’re so expensive! I plan to do so this year though.
